Just removed the water pump and discovered it had quite a bit of sediment in the block. I took my garden hose and flushed out the block and radiator until it went from rusty red to clear flowing water. do I need to use any other product to clean the block and radiator or am I okay with putting radiator fluid into it when I get the new pump on?

Proper anitfreeze and distilled water. It wouldn't be a bad idea to flush the tap water out with an extra jug or two of distilled water to clear/dilute any standing tap water in the block. The other option would be to fill with antifreeze and distilled bleed and drain, but you would have to bleed the system twice. Up to you but never use tap (mineral water) in your cooling system, especially with alluminum involved.

I know it wastes a bit of brand new antifreeze... but i'd fill the system with a 50/50 mixture of antifreeze and distilled water. Run for a while (at least 20 minutes), take it around the block... And then drain as much as you can and refill 50/50.

I've used Shout, like a cup full, mixed with tap water to flush coolant systems after for example doing a head gasket. Run it to operating temp, then drain. Then refill with a mix of proper antifreeze and distilled water. Mercedes sells a citrus product for the same purpose.

Okay...quick question. I found a crickit belt tension tool on the walmart web site for $15.16 part #91107, I was a little stunned myself, but I also found one on autoatlanta.com for $20.00 part #RKR1 Is there any difference between the two? I found out the Kempf tool will not work on the 944

cricket or Kricket belt tool:
http://rennbay.com/Kricket-Belt-Tension-Tool.html
will only tension the balance belt close.
It is not an accurate tool for the cam belt.
Consider the Arnnworx tool:

Lots of debate about tension tools, I just use the 90 degree twist on timing and the 180 degree twist on the balance shaft belt, just change the belts every 2 years or 30,000, and don't forget to check and re-tension in between!
