944S2NUT - thanks so much for that.....almost brought tears to my eyes from all the memories.

Anyone here still have a old working system? I have a broken Colecovison but I have two working Intellivisions (none of those crappy "Tandyvisions").
I actually had a game of Sea Battle last night.

I seriously still play Bump and Jump, Burger Time (which, after like 20 years, I still haven't beat it!!), Sea Battle and I play a lot of Utopia.

I used to play Track and Field for Atari so much, we were going through like two controllers every month!!

944S2NUT - I have a question.....

When you played Sea Battle, did you go defensive and lay mines in front of your harbor or did you go for the kill and lay them closer to the enemies, so they couldn't even get an attack going?

Ya, PT boats are quick, but they suck it. I think the only boat that can hit them without them sinking is the mine layer. I like the sub, but it's so hard to move. Battle ships and Destroyers are my favs.

Best part about Sea Battle???? Trying to do "fake" button pushes so the opponent thinks your laying mines when your not. I also like the rush when the other guy is just on the doorstep and you are panicking to get a boat out and you pray you hear that "Awoooooga, awooooga" to engage in a battle before you hear the victory music for him!!!

My buddy, Len Herman wrote a book called: "Phoenix: the Rise and Fall of Home Video games." It's a bit of a dry read, but it's got a COMPLETE history of home video games, right up to the PS2. Check out his webiste.

Dang man, doesn't it just make you feel kinda old to be able to remember things like this? I used to have a full size arcade centipede and asteroids in my living room. I would love to have a room full of those old games like defender and tempest. Believe it or not, at one time I was contemplating going for the world record in galaga back in 1981. I can still finish the game at 255 stages and 3.4 million points. It takes about 3 1/2 hours to do it. Those were the days.

LOL world record crazy! Yes I lay mines infront of my enemies base down in the bottom left corner. Its a great sound hearing the explosions!! Only reason I like the sub so much is b/c of the long range

PS dont run in the land heheheh
