Can you check your battery tray for me?
Here is a picture of the battery tray bracket that get spot-welded to the bottom of the battery box at the factory. I am fixing rust so had to drill mine out. Mine is on the left from my '86 951, and the one on the right is from Parts Heaven from an unknown year 944. Notice the little tab at the top of the one on the right? That tab does a nice job of cradling the battery hold down clamp. Without it, like on my car, the clamp tends to stop against the body itself, scratching paint etc.
When did Porsche make the switch? If you have access to your battery box, can you take a look and tell me which style you have, and what year your car is? Thanks!

Thanks all. I added a tab to mine. Seems like an update on the later cars, and well worth it to keep the clamp from digging in to the battery box floor.
