Default Porsche 924 Turbo Series 2 MY81 VIN Decode

Hi,

Am considering this car in Australia with following VIN,

Vin# is WPOZZZ932BN100260

Confirm that it is a 1981 but suggests a a Type 931 (LHD versus Type 932 being RHD. Suspect this car may have had a conversion as some stage.

Where can I find out where it was initially delivered. and any other history??

Cheers

Tony

Tony, correct...this VIN identifies an '81 931, s/n 260.

WPOZZZ932BN100260...identifies this as a 931, vice 932.

WPOZZZ932BN100260...identifies this as an '81 chassis.

Re: original delivery...have you inquired with your regional Porsche center/dealer?

The VIN decoder on 924.org confirms the above, and lists it as a ROW, a Euro car. That's it though, no more info from that site.

I'll admit up front that I could be wrong about this, but I am not aware that the VIN on a RHD 924 Turbo reflects the internal project code "932". Although not entirely and definitively clear, https://www.stuttcars.com/technical/vin-decoder/ indicates that the VIN for a RHD / ROW car would be WPOZZZ93xxx1xxxxx. I had a look through the 924 Registry, and none of the UK, SA, or AU entries have a 93xxx2 VIN, they all have 93xxx1.

I doubt seriously that the car would have gone through a LHD to RHD conversion, although stranger things have been done.

You can ask Porsche about its first delivery and the options it came with.

HI,

Thanks to al who have replied and provided usual and confirmatory information. It sounds like it may well have been a RHD car from the beginning. Will look to do some further checks with Porsche. Thanks again to all who replied.

Cheers

BTW, is the S/N 260 the build number for that year of the build number from the initial build of 924 Turbos??

Cheers

Tony, s/n for all VINs is specifically for that particular [model] year.
