ITs a good thing those wheels weren't forged or else he would have flipped the car.

I was under the impression that the TUV standard for European alloy wheels said that the wheels are supposed to deform in a crash and not shatter. While this results in a wheel that is a little less rugged in day-to-day use, it won't fly into pieces and result in a crash if a car hits something at high speed on an autobahn. Speedlines are made in Italy, right? So they are supposed to conform to that TUV standard, no? Or is it just for German wheel manufacturers - BBS, etc?

I saw a replica shatter at TWS in Bryan/College station at about 140+. Pretty cool to see a wheel flying down track.
