Default Speedometer not registering

So on my 944 (86) the speedometer doesn't want to move from 0 mph. I was thinking it was the sensor on the trans but when I switched over to another used sensor, nothing changed. They both worked before going into storage. What else could be the issue besides that sensor?

The sensor needs to read pulses from the transaxle while the rear wheels are turning. If it was me, I'd put the car on jack stands, un-plug the connector to the pickup and put a volt meter (AC Mode) on the pickup pins. Put the car in gear to start turning the rear wheels and see if the voltage changes. If it does, then you've got either a gauge or wire issue. If you get nothing, then I'd be suspect of the speedo drive part of the transaxle. Just a another question: are you missing any other warning lights, or indicators in that part of the gauge cluster? That might indicate a loose connector on the back of the cluster.

Other than the cluster being dim, I didn't notice anything unusual with it.
