Default Who has driven their car the most miles?

Curious to hear how many people have personally driven their 944 for 100K plus miles? 200K? More?

A better question would be, who has the original speedo gear? Mine is going on it's third gear, 134K registered. Who knows how many miles in between gear replacements.

No kidding, with these cars it's a crap shoot on miles. Could be 120k, could be 220k. I think many of these are showing far less miles than they have. I don't know of hardly any of these I've looked at that have a working OD, and the once that do, I'd bet it didn't always work.

Mine doesn't work, it's on the list. I'll do it when I do LED's for all the dash lights.

Well, mine does work and I don't believe it has ever stopped.
And it runs about 6% fast with all stock setup.

So even though I show 124K, it's probably more like 116k miles.
Anyway, I bought my car at about 110k, so I have only gone 14k in about 5.5 years according to the odo.

I've put about 30K on mine in a little over 4 years. It has over 180K total and the gear is going fine. I do not know if it has ever been replaced.

There's a guy on here, William B Noble, who is the original owner of a 250k 944. I think he sold it though.

I've done about 60k in 6 years of ownership, but it's been down for repairs/upgrades about half that time.

The 944S2 that I sold less than 2 years ago had 156K miles on it when I sold it; I bought it 20 years earlier with ~45K miles. I did countless (as in hundreds) of track days and many, many autocrosses in that time. And years of daily driving. Motor was never apart (though rod bearings were done twice); trans was only done because the PO had replaced the original LSD with a turbo trans. Current owner is driving the car regularly (saw it 10 days ago) still going strong. I'm aware of one S2 that went nearly 300K miles and would still be running except it got caught in a flood.

With proper maintenance, a 944 should run a very long time...

I've put about 3 miles on my black 951 since I bought it in 2011! I've opened its hood more times than its doors...

The most I've put on a Porsche is about 30k on a 968.

I have only put about 15K of it on personally, but my 944S is somewhere north of 200K miles. The speedo gear was broken when I bought it and it showed 187K at that time. I drove it for about half a year before I got around to replacing the gear and it's about to actually tick over 200,000. I have a trip in a couple weeks down to SE Ohio that should put it over the mark.

245k and still going strong. I don't touch that trip odometer button. Still all original gears.
Love this car more than anything else. The 80's Rock on......... In my time machine.
