Tensioner pad failure isn't necessarily a death sentence. My avatar is a tensioner that came out of a S2 race car. Ran fine until they pulled the head for a 3.0 turbo setup. I would imagine the oil was pretty spectacular, though.

Couple of small updates;

I am in communication with the owner but not much progress has been made on resolving title issues. The car needs paint on the trims running down the A-pillar from the back of the hatch (both of them), and both quarters are scratched up. I'm not too worried about this since I intend to have those panels repainted anyways.

The interior is mint though. There is some sort of placard with a Porsche logo on it above the glovebox. It is original. I am getting a picture today of what is written on it.

Lastly, my wife has decided that she will now take it in as her car since I have a 928 already. Now she just has to re-learn to drive manual. She used to drive my 944 really good before it was sold, and probably still remembers how to.

The car literally looks identical to this car save for the flaws in the paint:

Once the car is in my hands, I will provide all the photos of it.

Don't let the pads stop you, you'll be fine, just replace them when you get it home for some peace of mind. They are pretty easy to do and its a fairly cheap job.

Purple is the color of Royalty, and not the Drag Queen type either!!! I think that color is damn sexy on the 968! That being said, I wish I had to ***** to paint something in it. My GF LOVES purple, and any time paint comes up for any of the cars, she wants purple.

I live in redneck central, being a guy driving a purple car is a good way to end up in more fights than it's worth.

But when I do my paint, that Blue Violet is going to be on my list now... if I can just grow a pair big enough to do it!

The only thing wrong with this 911, the cookie cutter wheels. This bad boy needs proper Fuchs.

Sorry no pix yet. The owner did not go to his work to take any. The car is stored at his business.

I am on pins and needles as much as ya'll are.

And by the way, I use 24 hour photo
