I think the resale of an 83 300z is about the same as an 83 944 and I believe the 944 costs about twice as much as the 300z new. I can't vouch for how well the interior of a 944 holding up since most 83 944s are pretty well trashed unless owned by one of us rennlisters. Its probably uncertain at best to say one would hold up better than another in the long run. I have owned 90+ 300zx and turbos in the past and they seem to have good worksmanship and quality parts.

I would guess an '83 944 vs. an '83 911 would be a fairer comparison.

Agree. The good Z's are the 1970-1972 Datsun 240, and the 1975 280Z.
A good restored early 240's are collector's items and value is high.

The bad Z's are the 260Z, 280ZX, and early 300ZX.. Then the best of the Z's are the 1990 and above Twin Turbo.

Boxsters prices has dropped and the "S" Boxster is the choice.

The 350Z's have bugs to fix since it just came out. Major problems like tires feathering within 2000 miles, grease streaks on passenger/driver windows, interior squeking and creaking, clutch/trans vibrations.

The list goes on you can check it out at my350z.com

heres my 2 cents worth,
i have an 89 s2 that i drive less than 2k per year, i'm trying to restore it to
near concours condition. just bought an 01 boxster tip for my wife this past spring. we looked at the rice machines and the boxster by far is a much classier and fun car to drive. build quality is much more solid than the z cars. the s2 is a bit more harsh, seat of the pants ride. the boxster
refined but it handles like a slot car. both cars are just a hoot to drive.
i'm just not a real fan of the rice scene.
