my freakin compressor mounting points broke again, this is the second time in a year and a hlaf its done this. last time it happened i took it to my mechanic to replace it cause i didnt want to deal with freon. he tensioned the belts corectly and evrything but the freakin thing broke again!!!

i was wondering if i need a tensioner if i just put a belt on my alternaor. or how hard would it be to make a tensioner, has anyone done this??

What are you talking about? Do you have a Euro ac delete bracket or are you having problems tensioning the ac compressor???

Just get the AC delete bracket and ditch the compressor outright. The delete bracket only has a single mounting point (for the Alternator). This drops the alternator down to where the compressor was. You wind up using a shorter belt since you are only driving the alt. Paragon has a kit on their website. I don't think technically it is a "Euro" AC delete bracket since it was an option for a few years in the US.

If you ditch the entire AC system, including all the crap under the passenger side of the dash (evaporator core?) you take a measure (I weighed it) 50lbs out of the car. Have a tech properly bleed off the system first though.

Actually. Broadfoot also sells a super duper machined aluminum version if your so inclined.
