Am I seriously throwing my money away? It's a daily driver and not
used on any track or opened up (much) on the highway. If so, then
please tell me so I can save myself $0.20 per gallon by going with 87

We don't need it, so I haven't looked.
And timmer, duck, etc. Use the grade that your manual recommends. For NA 8Vs, it's 87. For 951s it 91. (Don't know about Ss and S2s). Unless you've done some mod that requires a higher grade fuel, in which case, use the grade the mod producer recommends.

I see now. My manual sez to use 90 RON but looking further it sez 87 AKI and they go on saying something about the USA. Checking out the turbo side of the book sez 95 RON so that told me that RON is something European.
Well, no more 93OCT for me. I'm going with cheap stuff!!!! I figure I save myself nearly $4.50 per fill up.........enuf to buy some **** mag at the station.

BP Amoco Ultimate 93 octane. I prefer it because of the clear formulation plus it does not reek of ethanol every time I fill up like some other gasolines. In addition, I prefer this station because they still provide the separate hoses for the different grades of gas, which means I am not getting a hose full of 87 at 93 price.

Im prolly gonna use 89.
Maybe its just me, but it feels kinda wrong to gas up a porsche using the same gas that the 16 year olds with 84 civics are using....

I mix 3 Gl of 100 Octane to 8 Gl of 91. Here in S. Bay Area there's only one gas station availbale that sells 100 octane. Everywhere else is 91. There are a few speed shop that sells them in 5 Gl containers but they cost $28.00 for 5 Gl plus core fee of $12.00.
What do you guys/gals pay for your high octane gas in your area? The one and only station here charges $4.27 a Gl of 100 Octane.

It wouldn't be enough to make me change gas stations, but I'm glad the two I go to (I go to one for the Acura, and a different one for the 951) both have separate hoses.

I run 93 octane.. But beware of BP in Oxford.. As I bought gas there (car felt really sluggish) I added lots of octane booster and BOOOM power was back... (I think they sold me 87)

944S is 11:1 compression so i think using high octane is probably a good idea... 93/94 sunoco or 93 shell works good. but goddamn gas is so expensive here lately
cant find anything for under $2/gal
