I reached out to the guy in Norway that sells the Conti radio, $140.00 including shipping to the US. I'm getting tempted to get rid of the PO's light show unit that was installed prior to my acquisition. Here's his response:

"Hi Patrick, thank you for contacting me and the interest in my products.
All my prices include worldwide shipping by Air Mail. The 7412 head unit is indeed USD140, and is of course negative ground.
You are the first customer that might fit these head units in a 944, and I will be happy to assist in this if you need it. I would also appreciate pictures of the installation if possible. If you have a original head unit in your car, I will also be happy to assist in making any needed wiring adapters in order to make the installation process easier for you.
Let me know if I can be of any further assistance to you.
Cheers,

Tore Bergvill

Nice one. I don't think he realises but I'm sure a few other 944 owners have bought them as I've been sharing that link everywhere for the last few months!

Good point about no line out but not something I'm personally overly concerned about.

Yup. Do a side-by-side with pretty much anything Beats and a competing product at the same price point. It's pathetic. They're a brilliant lesson in how marketing can trump actual quality in the retail world.

Here is mine, I keep the driving gloves, wallet or phone there.
When driving the 924s, no other sounds than the car for me.

Its the same as in this GT

Audiophile is akin to hipster douchebag...If it sounds good to you that's all that matters regardless of make or price point . On another note what is a wireless Bluetooth rechargeable speaker you think is good

J1NX3D,

So, do you have the unit in yours? How does it fit? I'm actually quite interested in buying the unit.

If your looking for something small, i've got one of these that we use when camping and it does fairly well.

I've been thinking about picking up a bigger one. That said, if its for a car, i'd get one of the digital only decks and a set of speakers for the doors. Its not that much weight. Most BT speakers will have a very very hard time keeping up with road noise. Your other choice is to get an Amp that has bluetooth built in or a BT Adapter that can output to an amp that you can hide in the car.

Whats your goal here? which car of yours is it going in? or is it moving between all of your bad *** rides in your sig?

The cool part about the Porsche Classic Radio is that it's essentially a shrunken PCM. It does navigation, blue tooth, accepts USB sticks to read music and has a touch screen. That Continental unit looks great too though..
