Early to Late DME detail
Hello braintrust,
I have read plenty posts stating success with swapping early to late dme AFM, as its plug and play. However, I noticed a discrepancy.
Early DME= Pin 28-Altitude Compensation switch.
Late DME= Pin 30-Altitude Correction Box
Since this is a race only car (no emissions tests), do I need to hook up the switch? If so do I need the late model Altitude correction box?
Thanks, Kevin

I guess I could have phrased it better - do you race at various tracks, with different elevations?
But yea, you could leave it unplugged. I think it actually serves to lean out the AFR at high altitude, doesn't it?
On any given weekend I might drive from sea level to a 6000ft mountain town, and I haven't had the altimeter in the car for at least 5 years. Don't notice any difference other than the obvious lack of power up in space.
