Default Early to Late DME detail

Hello braintrust,
I have read plenty posts stating success with swapping early to late dme AFM, as its plug and play. However, I noticed a discrepancy.
Early DME= Pin 28-Altitude Compensation switch.
Late DME= Pin 30-Altitude Correction Box
Since this is a race only car (no emissions tests), do I need to hook up the switch? If so do I need the late model Altitude correction box?
Thanks, Kevin

Nope you'll be fine. It's plug and play, altimeter switch won't matter if it's plugged in, or not.

Are you going to be racing at varying altitude tracks?

Well, not sure if you are just joking. I do race in the northeast and there is big elevation change at most tracks. So just leave the plug open, no altitude switch?

I guess I could have phrased it better - do you race at various tracks, with different elevations?

But yea, you could leave it unplugged. I think it actually serves to lean out the AFR at high altitude, doesn't it?

On any given weekend I might drive from sea level to a 6000ft mountain town, and I haven't had the altimeter in the car for at least 5 years. Don't notice any difference other than the obvious lack of power up in space.

Thanks Spencer! The most elevation is 1500' above sea level. So l guess I will be safe without the elevation box. Really appreciate your help
