Why not just go open headers?

Also id like to dream when i buya 951...im gonna get every part that SFR makes...
I'de have to agree with you that the 944 is the nicest sounding 4cyl automobile I've ever heard. It's the combination of deep throaty sound and a healthy bit of belt noise. Sort of exotic.

Anyway, I've heard Borlas only on 928 (2x our engine) and it sounded GREAT. Louder than stock, but not in a ricey way.. in a very mean way. I'm sure the SS Borla exhaust would sound very pleasant on our machines.

The B&B for me turned out to be the culmination of performance, uncanny sound, and craftsmanship I was looking for. It certainly added a throttle response and higher end breathing to my 1984 944. I am always getting compliments on the cars sound. It really has a nice deep and throaty idle along with a symphonic growl at around 2800-3200rpm, especially when you get next to cement buildings/walls. She really starts to howl though at 4400 and above. I had a small crowd around the car at Tweeks FunFest this past June and people kept asking what I had done to the engine, it was just the exhaust and the other pieces (see sig.). I even get compliments and the look of jealousy from the rice burners, and the VW crowd just shake their heads in fascination. It really compliments the wine of the belts too!

Hope this helps, take care!

Anyone have any pros or cons regarding Spin Tech mufflers? I heard a few stangs and other V-8 cars on their website and man do they sound great! Even a bit better than the Flowmaster 2 chambers I had on my 465hp 355 Chevy, and that was Thunder! Well, I would want to hear it in person first before I go to that extent. Wonder how they would perform on a forced induction car? I believe it is http://www.spintechmufflers.com/.

Take Care!

I have a Borla on my car it sounds very nice. Deep and throaty, no rasp. Every time I would show up at the soccer fields or baseball fields, all of the other parents would turn, but not disgusted. (Yes, I'm an aging father of two.) It does "open up' when the gas pedal is depressed. Very nice.

The B&B is pretty expensive, but the price I'm getting it at is a steal. I'll hopefully get the entire catback exhaust when I buy a 951. I have a ton of mods waiting to be put on the car even before I get it.

Hey Ian, you heard a GHL exhaust system on my car not a B&B..

Also please beware, do not by B&B ****, just because it is exactly that ****...I ordered it, looked at it after waiting a month, laughed and sent it back.. Don't be ripped off... Quality craftsmanship I don't think so, Qaulity fitment, don't think so, cleaN WELDS, not, and the list goes on...

I had a Borla catback on my old N/A. It sounded pretty decent and looked pretty good. There seemed to be an extremely small increase in performance (practically immeasurable).

I have SFR's catback on my 951 and it is very nice. FWIW quality is very high, welding is awesome and the sound is deeper and louder on the throttle while quieter at idle in comparison to the Borla unit. A review I wrote for p-caronline is here

Schlag: I bought my setup at the Hershey swap meet in 2002 for $75. It came off a burned car, and it had all this burned crusty insulation on it. After 12 hours of cleaning and polishing, voila! Good as new! The polishing took so long because I was using a hand drill and a buffing wheel attachment. If I were to buy a system I would more than likely go SFR due to it fits my budget a better and still sounds and looks great. I do believe Windward Perf has the B&B for $650.00. No affiliation though.

I kept the stock cast non-tubular manifold too and a cat that has disintegrated over the years and is now hollow. The tubular late model piece is better though.

Take Care!
