Default New to me 91 944 S2 with pics

I bought this 91 944 S2 back on August 11 and have been working to fix a few small issues here and there. There were only about 500 S2 coupes brought into the States in 91 and they all had the updated 968 hoop spoiler hatch on the back. This one doesn't have any special options but it was fitted with adjustable Koni's at some point on the front and rear and has a lifetime XM radio receiver in it. Also it has euro front driving lights but the bulbs are wired on the same circuit. I'm wondering if the finish on the D90 wheels is stock - I haven't ever seen a blacked out paint pattern like that before on factory wheels.

Since I bought it I changed out the timing belt and front engine seals. I replaced the hood shocks, armrest hinge, glove box supports, air filter, oxygen sensor and DME temp sensor. I also had the top tensioner pad replaced and new cam cover gasket installed. A new fuel filter and check valve were installed. I swapped in a working clock too.

Here are some pictures I took yesterday. At some point I need to get new tires and the AC and rear wiper don't work right now.

Looks a tidy honest car, someone has taken some time on the wheel finish, it's not original but they have been masked off and painted black inside the spokes, and the front bare metal polished and either left bare? or clear lacquered? Usually bare metal will bloom and oxidise with rain but maybe you don't get much of that !

Super clean. Love those spoilers! Plus, alpine white is a super nice color on 944's

Thanks guys! I really like the white on black color combo. I did some more research on the production numbers and there were 510 of these brought into the States. According to the VIN this would be the 346th one. One of the last couple of hundred 944s made!

I wonder how many M030 S2s were made over the years?

Yeap. It's a 91, #248 of 510. Bought from oringinal owner too! Just starting to fix stuff here and there. New rear wiper motor, new front badge, leather shift boot kit, got a LCD kit to fix the clock. Want to check the valve tensioner. I think I'll order the upper and lower. I was told to check the o-rings on an oil pressure relief valve since I have the Valve cover off. Anyway new to this forum. I'm sure I'll be checking it a lot.

I agree, those D90's aren't stock finish. i have a set of D90's refinished with the centres black and left the rims silver. i like the look a lot.

I miss my 951 all the time. S2's, especially coupes, are very cool. Congrats and enjoy.
