I am in the process of motor mounts as I post... I bought two OEM units from Vertex at 50 a piece. Not a bad price at all... they look exactly as those on the tech-session.com tutorial. I've heard horror stories about aftermarket...

The ones I have seem to be either solid rubber or perhaps have a tad of fluid in part of them... the rubber moves to some degree, as when you compress the bottom it bulges out on the sides. Definitely nothing like the old style fluid filled mounts, however...

Cheers,
Sach

Damn, I just ordered 2 mounts for Vertex no more than 20 minutes ago. Now I hear (from here and the turbo board) that the Vertex mounts are not OEM like they say. Can anyone confirm this?

BTW SoCal Driver, love the avitar! Dr. Who rocks!!!

When I posed this question a couple of months ago, the general consensus seemed to say that they were aftermarket. Despite being advertised as OEM, other listers had said that their vertex mounts lasted for under 20,000 miles. If I were you, I'd call vertex immediately and ask them to prove that they are OEM or else you'd like to cancel your order.

$@#(*$#@

Time to call Vertex... sounds like they've been doing this alot lately... those clutches... mrr...

If I have to wait for a new unit and shell out more cash... specifically ordered the motor mounts from them separately due to the price difference ;(

Well, they all LOOK the same. It's what's inside that's different. I would suspect that since they charge half the price of everyone else that sells "OEM" mounts that they are not fluid filled. I've learned my lesson with those guys and I'm never going there again.

Found the image through a recent news story about bringing the series back.

Loved the original Dr. Who.

As to engine mounts. Figure these are another of the perishable components like timing belts and tires.

What about trans mounts? How do you check these?

They are going to try again to bring back Dr. Who? They had a made-for-TV movie on Fox a couple years ago, but I guess it wasn't popular with the American audience. Shame, me and all of my dorky sci-fi buff friends loved the series.

Sad. Very sad.

The trick is to never let them see you cry.
