Default Agreed value insurance.

After reading Tom R.'s post about his insurance issues, I've been trying to find a company that will insure afor agreed value. I cannot find one that will do it without serious restrictions. Has anyone found a company that will do this?

I've tried Grundy, Hagerty, Progressive (sux anyway), JC Taylor, and others.

Any ides?

I was looking at Leland-West, but they do have restrictions. the dealbreaker (for now) was that I need a 10yo or newer daily driver in the fleet, and my beater minivan is a 1992.

d'oh!

I might get a newer van, my current one is getting on towards 175K miles, but in the meantime I'm dead in the water.

I use American Collector Insurance but they have restrictions too. If you put 8-10-12-15K miles on your car a year, youll be hard pressed to find a collector insurance company to give you agreed value. I believe some large insurance carriers like State Farm have something called "Accepted Value" or something like that, that is somewhat similar. They dont call it agreed value though and its handled slightly different.

Westfield Insurance Group let me write my own policy. No restrictions unless I put them in. Agreed value of $30k, 100/300/100 coverage with a $500 deduct. Cost me about $1200 a year.

I needed to supply detailed records and receipts, along with pictures of every nook and cranny of the car. I am going to have it profesionally appraised (since the PCA valuation did not do a damn thing) and provide that to them as well.

Perry,
You've done a beautiful job with your car. You really deserve that coverage.
I just wish I could find a company that would let pay a little more for them to cover my car at a value I choose. I'd like to insure for $15k just so I don't lose my *** if it is ever a total loss.

I'm covered with an agreed value and unlimited mileage, etc. Just needed to get a valuation. I have never claimed on the P-car but they paid up promptly on some hail damage for my other car.

The company is Cincinatti Insurance and the broker Anderson, Hall & Marsh of St Louis. Great thing is that they also take my foreign driving record into account as I have only been in the U.S. 3 years.

Mail me if you want more details.

What are the restrictions? I was planning to go with Grundy, the only thing they want is:

1. It is not your only car.
2. It is kept in a garage.

Or have I missed something? I have only been to their website, never contacted them yet.

I spoke with them on the phone (e-mail took forever). They want a car for each locensed driver that is <5yrs old and require less than 2500 miles/yr.
Plus they don't cover high performance cars valued at less than $100k.

How's that for restrictions. I put that in the 'I'll never qualify' group.
