Well, I think this is a little off topic, but it still relates to the 951, as it is in the car as we speak. As most of you that have attended the 944Fest '03 know, I have a computer in my car. It has been working out great, but recently, when playing mp3s at any volume, the front speakers sound like they go to an attenuate mode (like if you were to press ATT on your head unit). The sub woofer on the other hand continues at its normal volume. I can remedy this problem for a short time by fiddling with the volume. At first I thought it was a software or computer hardware issue, but I tested the amp with multiple sources and the same symptoms happened. This problem is very erratic and hard to purposely duplicate. My question to you guys is, why would this be happening, and do I need a new amp. Obviously, this would be hard to diagnose without the proper information, so here goes:
VIA V10000 Mini-ITX motherboard
Sound Blaster Extigy
Pioneer GM-X364 Amp
JL Audio TR-400CXi Speakers
Thanks in advance,
Justin

Could be your amp overheating, but that usually shuts off the amp.
Checked all the usual things like speaker connections at both ends, RCA signal connections, GROUND CABLE?
If its intermittent, it could be a loose cable getting jarred.

Everything appears to be solidly connected, and the sub is powered by its own amp. Sorry for the lack of clarification. But on another note, this has to be put on the backburner as my now former employer, Gap Inc., has let me go. I would rather not explain it in detail, but any advice in my 19 year old unemployed state would be helpful.

My advice would be kiss up to your parents.
For the amp: get it going and make voltage measurements, then wait for it to fail, and make more measurements. This will tell you where it's failing.
How's your computer set up? I built a via epia system running Gentoo GNU/Linux, with a 7-button VFD display. I haven't put it in yet, due to delays.
