Talking 944-Spec Race 15-20 Cars at AMP This weekend

Well this weekend is looking to be the largest 944-spec race so far at Arizona Motorsports Park. Estimates are 15-20 race cars will be out at the track for the first Az fall event. There will also be few cars from southern california.

Drop by and check out all the 944 racers!

In addition to the Spec Cars, they'll also be running DE's both days. For those Phoenix guys who have given me the old "I can't wait for it man", I expect to see you there at least checking it out. No more excuses here guys. If you don't want to run your car or have the cash to do it come, come out and grab me and I'll take you around for a few laps in my car (If you want to be impressed ride around with some of the spec drivers). I'll be there on Saturday all day with Vic and Bob C. I'm sure bloomberg and many other listers will be there as well. Marc, Dan, Bob, Sam, Jeff, how about you guys??? The Spec-cars are a lot of fun to watch!

On a related note, now that the weather is starting to let up and the track days are finally back, a few guys have asked me about doing another belt tensioning day (okay so we tend to drink a lot of beer too). I'm up for it if other people need it and won't limit it to belts. I have the 9201, a good compression tester, leak-down gauge, great tools for identifying vacuum leaks, ect.. If you are interested, let me know.

I hope to see you out at the track.

There's a DE?!?!
How much? What do I have to have on me or my car to run? Is it too late to register?

I really would love to make it, but I'm on the other side of the country at college - it's really too bad, I sure miss the car and the track.

I'm trying to sell my NA 944, if anyone there seems interested, I'd appreciate you passing on the word - it's got nearly every power bolt-on available on it, would make a great track car or street car!

My car for sale: http://mall.rennlist.com/scripts/lis...uery=retrieval

Thanks, and have a great time guys - keep the shiny side up!

AG,

I'll send you an e-mail with the info and my number if you have any questions.

Sam,

Thats a pretty good excuse but you could fly in for the day you know. Let us know when you're back in town and we can have a get together.

Yep. There are NASA DE events at all 944-spec races. There is a group & instructors for beginners and a run group for advanced drivers. All you need is safe sound car & helmet. Should accept at track tech.

Details on Street Car Requirements

Here is the Url to the registration.

NASA - Entry DE & Race

Standard rate of $149 per day or $249 for both days. 4 - 20 min sessions per day.

Kinda pricy to come up with on short notice (I just spent $900 on some 993 wheels/tires, and need to come up with $600 for race tires for my PDs).

I'm very tempted though...
I'll definitely try to stop by, especially with Jeremy offering rides.
