Is it difficult to replace the speakers in the 944? I am sure they are factory speakers and they just don't sound very good. The car came with a Kenwood radio (Not my choice of Radio's) and it has a 12 disc changer in the rear driver's side fender well. I must have the radio tuned to a specific station for the system to work. It seems to me I am not getting true CD quality sound anyways.

Cliff, sounds like your CD player uses an "FM modulator", so your frequency response is limited to FM radios, so you are correct, not true CD quality sound.

The front speakers are easy to replace, the rears are a little more difficult.
If you do a search there are tons of threads about speakers.

Finding speakers to fit in the front is harder than installing them. Mine will probably end up being somewhat of a custom install.

Get the Alpine SPS 4629 ( I think that's what I have) for the fronts. Sound good, and all I had to do was flip over the black plastic piece (the one between the speaker and the grill) to make them fit.
