Cool Calling all Texans, looking for a 944, 924, or 914 to buy

Ok guys heres the deal, I need a car right now, I am continuing to fix the "S", but I need something running right now. I just graduated college and need to find a job in my field, and need a car to do that.

My budget- $1500-$2000

I am looking for a early 944, 924, or 1.7 liter 914. Car does not need to be concours clean, and for that budget I don't expect it to be. Air conditioner (if equipped) doesn't need to work. All I need is a strait body, decent paint/interior and a good running engine. I actually prefer a 914, I guess cause I don't have an aircooled car yet, but any of those is desirable to me. I live right near San Antonio, so the car needs to be relatively close. Anyway, yall let me know, thanks!

And you live in San Antonio. Sharky, you've lost your mind.

I'll PM Kevin for you. He mentioned a 944 he'd seen in town for something like $2K.

Really!

Don't employers in your field do drug testing?

I saw a 924S black, with 2995 or something on the window near my house, I'll look tonight or tomorrow night.

I see an unusually high number of 944s in Corpus Christi. You may want to look down here. There is often one or two in the various classifieds during any given week.

I was trying to sell my 75 914 a few months ago but have started parting it out. Parts are worth more than the whole.

dgz924s, I left a message on your machine, I am very interested in the car. From what you describe, and from the pictures you sent me, the car matches my needs perfectly. I am curious to know what you meant by the transport help. If I do purchase the car, I may be able get one of my pilot friends to fly me up there. Anyway, give me a call when you can and we'll talk more.

Odie, that's to bad about the 914, I have recently begun to get into those. I havn't driven one yet, but they have sorta grown on me, I want one now. Course, it's not like I need another P-car project right?

If you end up with a 914, you might grab my brother's 914 2.0. He's trying to get rid of it, so it would just be a matter of picking it up. It's stored on Padre Island near Corpus Christi. It'd be a great parts car if you had something to swap parts onto.

It doesn't run (seized motor) but has some cool parts. IIRC it has webers and some euro body panels. It was a 1.7l car with a 2.0l transplanted into it. I don't recall the year. If you wanted it, you'd have to have the means to tow or trailer it out of storage and be able to make the process pretty easy for him. He does not have a lot of spare time so tire kicking, showing up late, changing your mind, etc. would not be good.

-Joel.
