Toolbox tie-down
#16
We were originally planning to camp our way up the PCH from LA before my timing belt let go, so i was prepared for a few days away from civilization. If we were not camping, it would have been just the luggage and tools. We did end up drinking a bit of that 2 gallon water jug on the way out as it was still pretty toasty in the car even with the a/c on. 134A just couldn't quite keep up with 115F out in the desert.

What does not fit in the wheel wells, fits behind the seats. I use a small plastic tool box in the area. Protects the spare DME, fuses, relays, +++
The tool box in the picture is waiting for a smash and grab. (or just pop the rear quarter window and open the door)

Just kidding. Thanks everyone for the input... I'll look into other toolbox options, not worth being killed over. There's a lot that I stuff in there and it's come in handy way too many times for me to leave home empty handed.

@ SH & Arominus:
Guys, don't you have this part in your hatch?
Doesn't it leak/rust/rattle without it?

That said, doubt you'd see rust from that- that whole area drains really well, assuming the drain tubes are hooked up properly and not clogged.

Dear Michael: Go to RC fastners..They have a marine source called Wichard. Look in the Wichard catalog for pad eyes. that is the part I'm talking about. Definitely Porsche quality. Wichard is not cheap. Nicro Fico may do better pricewise. Had to get my sailing hat on (dusty). Rich
