It's story time!!!
Sorry guys! I forgot to post this awhile back. It was a short story I wrote for one of my English classes. Hope you like! :
It was an unusually gorgeous day so I decided to take the girl out for a cruise. Freshly washed and waxed, she was looking for an opportunity to show her stuff. While cruising down I-97, I spot a black Firebird coming up my rear. I check the speedo and see I'm only doing 65. I run the schematics through my head and see if I have a chance. Looks to be an unmodded late model example. Somewhere around 300hp. As he comes up on me, he switches to the other lane. I notice a beautiful girl in the passenger seat and a twenty something male driving. He looks at me and I stare back at him, then at his woman. I give her a wink and he revs his engine. There's only one car in front of me so I drop behind the Pontiac and and pull around the car. We're side by side and I push the clutch in and tap the throttle. He nods and I nod. I drop the car down into 3rd and take off. I hear his throaty V-8 give a loud roar and his tires chirp. I look in my mirror and see him a little behind. I shift into 4th gear and give her full throttle. I'm doing 105 when I kick the car into 5th. He's starting to gain on me as I hit 120, we are side by side. I smile at his girl then I notice him start to slow down. Soon enough, he was a good distance back. I tap the brakes and get back down to a comfortable 80mph. He pulls next to me with a menacing look on his face. His girl is laughing in the passenger seat at him. I laugh with her. He gives me another nod and we were off again. My baby was pulling through the gears beautifully. I hear him miss a shift and start laughing. I slow back down and get next to him. A big thumbs out is sticking out his window and I gladly return it. After admiting his defeat, he smiles at me and we cruise around 100 until we hit Rt. 50. My radar detector emits that familiar chirp and I jab the brakes and try to warn him. He follows my lead and as we come over the hill, a Maryland State Trooper is carefully watching the road. I get in the fast lane and he pulls onto an exit ramp. I give him a wave and he waves back. The whole way home I smiled, thinking of my victory....

Slighty true. Although I'm not sure if those cars have regulators on them like all the rest. But he actually didn't beat me. It surpised the hell out of me. I made the mistake once of taking on a '69 Firebird 400 Ram Air. I've never seen a car move so damn fast in all my life. I was doing 115 and he was moving down the road like I was standing still.
