Default Hey guys, new to board

Just like to introduce myself. I got my 944 about a week ago. It was given to me and needs quite a bit of work. It will be a full resto before she goes on the road again. No pics yet, just in the process of removing parts to have replaced/refininished/refurbished. If anyone knows of any good places to go in the British Columbia lower mainland area for new/used parts or any other resources, it would be greatly appreciated. I have already signed up on Pelicanparts.com

Thanks for providing this board, it looks to be a great tool for a lot of people.

Thanks for the help, present and future

Congtats on the "gift" - sounds like quite a project!

I'm pretty new to the board as well and have found it immensly helpful - it's a great group of smart folks and the community feeling really adds to the pleasure of owning this great car.

As for parts - look for a thread I started a few days ago asking where Canadians get their parts - some great answers.

Enjoy!

Thanks for the welcomes I know it is going to be a big project, but I am looking forward to it. Have also read up on some of the things to watch out for etc... with these cars. So I have done a little homework, lots more to do though.

Rally Guy, thinks for the tip, will take a look for that thread.

Wagz, I am in Langley.

zehnd, thaks for the tip. Will look into joining

Matt, thanks for the info, will take a look. Would it be better to wait until I have pics to add the carr?

theedge, good luck with your search....

The 83 944 is among the more rare cars in the series. Not many of them around! I love the manual sunroof and overall lightness of the car versus later versions.

Mine currently has over 202K on the original engine, so if you take care of it, it should treat you well. Only thing is, parts can be expensive so be sure to check these forums before buying anything, so you know where you stand -new versus used, etc.

Enjoy the car!
