Cyril, are you saying a person could install the gas struts and oem hood locking mechanism?

Yes. You can see the inserts on my picture for the locking mechanism.
Hood struts should not be a pb.

Well, I have a fiberglass hood from GT racing on one car and a Crawford Carbon Fiber one on another (both have the bottom bracing like a stock hood), and side by side the Crawford hood is definitely much lighter that the GT Racing hood, not only is the Crawford hood lighter, but it is much more rigid as well, much less flex when propped open.
Of course there is a "Slight" price difference between the GT Racing hood & Crawford Composites hood.
