A 17 lb fibreglass hood? Lighter than carbon fibre? ...something seems off doesn't it? racerbvd, the skin's weight seems very appealing, but for a daily I'd prefer the firewall sealing capabilities to keep the fumes out of the cab. Well, I have a fiberglass hood from GT racing on one car and a Crawford Carbon Fiber one on another (both have the bottom bracing like a stock hood), and side by side the Crawford hood is definitely much lighter that the GT Racing hood, not only is the Crawford hood lighter, but it is much more rigid as well, much less flex when propped open.
Of course there is a "Slight" price difference between the GT Racing hood & Crawford Composites hood.
