944 battery
Well my durlast battery from the previous owner gave up and died so I'm in the market for a new battery, recommendations?
Can't say much good or bad about durlast as i only had it for a year but the battery is from 08' so it lasted that long

Whatever the corner auto store has in the right size.
Most of the "normal" batteries on the market, regardless of brand, are made in the same factory in Mexico.
So pick the one with the price/warranty you prefer and move on to something else.
Optima probably has its own factory.

OK sounds like they are all one in the same, unfortunately there aren't any pep boys stores near me, I'll try to find an optima that fits they seem to have a good reputation

I had an Exide battery that I replaced last year. I didn't really check how old it was until I noticed it starting to start more slowly... it was from 2005. It belonged in a museum, and it still started the car ok when it was fully charged. I replaced it with an Oreilly battery for ~$80, whatever the one their system says works for our cars and it's been perfectly fine, I think it has a 2 or 3 year warranty. Someone on a different thread was saying it's technically not the right one because the CCA rating is different but like I said, I've had zero problems.

Grabbed a Napa battery on sale for 75$, probably crap but at half the price of others I'll deal with it, now for the next question its a vented battery, same as all the others I was shown at 3 auto parts stores and Walmart, (doing errands figured I mind as well look, 164$) is there a battery drain hose in the battery compartment because I don't see one and the previous battery was sealed

Guys: 99% of all the aftermarket batteries are made by Johnson controls in Mexico in a very highly roboticized shop with very few people. Except for Exide. They are made in the states. So when you buy your SEARS die hard or your Duralast or Interstate, be aware that they all have the pretty much the same guts. There are several markings on the batteries. One is the group # It might be a 47 or a 24 or a 24F or a 34.. Every battery has a group number which is the battery specified by the manufacturer. That number and the CCA requirements are what the car manufacturer recommends. The higher the warranty years and the price will dictate the plate count in the battery. The more you pay, the more lead you get. Absorbed glass mat batteries are filled with an electrolyte gel. They don't charge the same way a regular battery does, and will require a special charger...Optimas are AGM as well. They provide a double than normal cranking amps for about a minute or two since they have so much more surface area in their plate configuration. just a few tips on batteries.
