Default Headlights - Non-Pop-Up Conversion (944/951)

I'm wondering if there's a way to convert the 944 S2/Turbo headlights so that they aren't a pop-up style. Similar to C5 Corvettes... the factory style is to have the headlights pop up, but some people have changed them so that it is a flush clear cover, similar to the 300ZX or NSX.

Do they still pop up when turned on, or stay down? Is it possible to install projector fixtures / HIDs into the 944 assembly?

They are the fixed lights, non pop-up. I got the buckets and covers at www.gt-racing.com I had planned to put HIDs in, but a slight lack of room for my particular setup, I went with standard driving lights.

$135 + $175 + $175? Sounds like more than I would want to do.

nine-44, how much depth is available with their buckets to mount a light? I'm also thinking of fitting an HID projector off another car, and need to know how much depth is available back there.

Thanks
Sam

Yep- Andy should be buying stock in 944 aftermarket parts suppliers anyday soon....

Fishbulb- you have NO idea on how nice it is until you get next to it.
