996 calipers on an early 944
I have a set of nice 996 calipers I was planning to use on my Audi. I would like to upgrade my brakes without having to spend another $1000 on calipers. Has anyone ever done this conversion? Are there any adapters out there? The car is an '84 944.

Volvo 240 91-93 iirc w/abs 38mm 4 pot fronts pretty much bolt on lines and all. pretty much = 951 brembo fronts for performance..
<$200 for a pair freshly reconditioned with pads on ebay, maybe <$150 if you're a good shopper/searcher.. Hawk pads available..
I'm still looking for big/easy/cheap rears if anyone knows of anything, if I wanted to make mount adaptors I'd have junkyard calipers, if I wanted to pay $250 for 951 brembo rears I'd have those first..

I believe the casting on the boxster calipers are the same, but the piston size and mounting holes, center to center, are different.
Thanks for that link. There is still good info in there. The adapters look very simple. I may just have a set made locally.
