Default Rod bearing replacement Preparation and Oil Pan Baffle insert replacement

I am reposting the information I put on Pelican.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsc...-part-1-a.html

The additional information is about the Oil Pan Baffle Insert replacement.

Techno Duck did a very good DIY and showed the Oil Pan Baffle installed.

Skip at Paragon Products mentions to install the Oil Pan Baffle but fails to explain why it should be changed.

Clarks- Garage has a very basic DIY

The OEM Oil Pan Baffle Insert is old and brittle. The pictures of cracked inserts are many. The Insert will break if you fail to carefully install the oil pan correctly while lifting over the oil pickup tube.
Failure to have a replacement will cost days of delay.

My conclusion in researching the oil pan insert is that it should be changed.
Anyone that pushes his car and wants to improve oil flow should install the updated oil pan baffle insert that fits in all motors according to Lindsay Racing.

The owners that want to keep the car for many years should just change it when doing the rod bearing maintenance.
