Only944 seat covers worked out beautifully for me. My wife, son, and I decided to use the tartan insert instead of all vinyl... both to add some color and to keep things comfortable on hot days. VERY happy to have selected the tartan.

Take your time and work around the wires that hold the seat fabric between the cuts in the foam. Having good hog ring pliers and some strong 45 degree mid-reach needle nose pliers will help. (The needle nose pliers are to twist the old hog rings off. You're not going to be able to cut through them.)

Was hoping to keep the script, but it looks like Only944 just does the vinyl option. I will get a set (perforated) and give it a shot!
As a follow up to my own post: purchased the covers from Only944, sat on them for some time and then finally installed. The fit sucks and they feel like plastic. Wish I bought a proper set of leather covers for my sport seats. I might do them over again.....we will see.

I have the only944 covers on my early sport seats (vinyl) and have been pleased so far. I added a thin layer of foam in a few places and stretched the vinyl as tight as I could when installing but there were still some wrinkled areas. That was in early spring and they have gone through several days of sitting outside in the heat inside the car and have tightened up completely. The vinyl is not as luxurious as leather but is about half the cost on average too. I have a late pair of sport seats that I am debating on doing something with and may go the same route again.

These covers have stood the test of time on the market for well over a decade (or more), and not many 944 reupholster kits can say that.

I think I may go with this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/26665157807...Bk9SR7KesumZZA

World Upholstery, assuming that price is for two covers.

I can give some feedback on the early sport seats. Purchased in 2021, didn’t get around to installing until summer 2022. At the time the instructions were oriented for non-sport seats, 85.5+ type. So I had to use discretion on some aspects and try to follow the general intent of some steps. First time doing anything like this so there was definitely improvement potential.

My seats had foam damage on some of the bolsters which I did my best to repair. But ultimately I regret not taking it to a professional.

They came out decently, with the only questionable looking areas being the bolsters I repaired. There were initially some wrinkles I couldn’t get out with a steamer and massaging, but they generally took care of themselves with time and sunlight as the material settled in.

I took a video of everything and put it on Youtube, and I believe it’s now linked on the Only944 website.
