Any custom (shorter) parking brake handles?
Wondering if anyone has ever modified the 944 parking brake handle to be less in-the-way when getting out of the car.
Seems the handle is destined to snag in pant legs and requires an awkward foot movement to get over and out.
Would like to cut mine down or change the handle altogether but retain functionality...anyone BTDT?

found this, might give this a shot with a spare handle...

parking brake shoes were replaced in 2006 and adjusted then, and then re-adjusted in december last year.
the handle when all the way "up" is about level or maybe a little higher than the door sill plastic trim piece thing, just high enough to catch my pant leg on the "leg swing out" from the car.
maybe this weekend ill get back under there and see if there's any slack to take up...

Not a fan of Jeremy Clarkson's, but I like the hydraulic e-brake that he put on that 944 ambulance on Top Gear, especially the fact that it was in the center rather than the side. I've always wished that damned handle would've been in the center.
My pant leg gets caught on the e-brake handle all the time.

This is a Holden HQ from around 1973.
It has the hand brake lever on the door side but after you pull the hand brake on, the lever then returns to the floor position. When you want to release the brake, it's movement is free until you get back up to the set position, then pull up, press the button and release as normal.
Why didn't porsche put this system in?
