Would you rely on a 15-year old condom for birth control?

I hooned around in a set of 20y/o dry rotted tires on the Fuchs I picked up for a weekend, before I flipped the wheels.. Even did some dirt path drifting but definitely would replace especially for peace of mind - get a set of high performance all season Falkens or something for a couple hundred bucks.

Edit: Your tires aren't the problem. The problem is you don't drive her enough!!

Hoping I never have to. Fingers crossed.
Unless I want to carry a full size spare with me, my options are somewhat limited (can't trust the 29yo space saver that will likely turn to dust when inflated).

the tires will tell you if they are bad... however, most shops will not flat repair tires older than 10 years so that might tell you something.

I spun my S2 within the first hour of having it and wasn't driving it hard whatsoever.. Spun it at 20mph on my way home (as embarrassing as that sounds), albeit with it being slightly damp out. Never spun a car unintentionally in my life. Tires front vs rear were different but rears were low and about 10 years old too. Now on Michelin PS AS/3s and it goes without saying it's light years ahead of what it was when I first bought it. Scared myself pretty good, never even saw it coming.

Discount Tire wont even check the air in my 10 year old truck spare tire.

Will a full size spare fit in space saver's spot?

Pssshhh...you guys...you "safety conscious," "Oh, no, I don't want to get killed in a flaming fiery ball of death" guys...

After spending a year motorcycling through Mexico, Central America and South America, I've seen some bodge jobs and whatever was necessary to get the job done at the lowest price.

12 people and a couple of guanaco in the back of a Subaru brat? Sure.
A family of 5 on a 90cc scooter, mother breastfeeding while the 5 year old worked the throttle? Routine.
Million-plus dollar Mercedes luxury motorcoach tumbled town a 400 foot sheer dropoff, because the driver was unskilled, racing and probably drunk?
Unfortunate, but it happens every day. Regrettable about the 53 people who died, however.

In those contexts, 15 year old Porsche tires are nothing. Ask a Peruvian how much life those tires have left.

Of course, having survived all of that, I'd pitch those plastic hoops the second I got the vehicle titled. But, if the phrase "Here, hold my tequila" is part of your pre-driving prep, you might get some more mileage out of them. ;-D

Oops, busted by the pros. :-D

I have to say, I was mildly skeptical, prior to my first Tire Rack purchase. Could they be better than Costco or my local shop that has always done me well?

I ordered a full set of Bridgestone Potenzas for my Volvo wagon. Fast ship, no hassles at the destination installation shop. Saved me hundreds off Costco. So I ordered a set for my girlfriend's car. And then a set of winters for my car. All were wonderful and majorly economical transactions. Now I am hooked.

You don't even have to pay to ship, they have a warehouse in Denver you can pick up from.

Thanks.

No it wont, these space savers are made of different composition of rubber than normal tires. Sure they are bad on the road, but I have multiple p space savers and not a single one has any signs of deterioration. They inflate and deflate as supposed to and saved my *** once, I drove ~100 miles with it on the front.

Rubber on all look almost like new and all are older than 25 years.

It's better to just replace them. You never know.
