Default Lotek A pillar Pod

For those who have the Lotek A-pillar pod, should I pay the extra for OEM finish? Does anyone have any pictures? Also, I am going to be putting a boost and water temp guage in there, but if I hook up the water temp guage will I have to diconnect the factory one or can I keep both? What's the best way to hook this up?

Thanks
Mike

Yeah, ebay,,,the great "9XAuto",,$69 for a pod! But....** and money soon part.

The OEM finish is just that, looks like it was in there from the factory.
You can hook up your sender, to the drain port on the block by #4 cylinder, about 4" down from the cam tower on the block. It is a 13mm hex head IIRC. I'm not sure of the thread,,,1.25? Depending on the sender, it will probably be a tight fit.

Why do you want a water temp gauge and not oil temp?

Definitely spend the $5 on the OEM finish.

I figured since runing hot is a big issue with these cars that it would be a good idea to get a more accurate reading on the water temp. SHould I ditch this and go with oil temp? How come?

The temp gauge on the instrument cluster should be enough IMHO, what good is it to know the exact temp at which you car overheats or runs normally? Based on this, I say you should ditch the water temp and the oil temp gauge and go with an EGT, although if it's a stock turbo it might be useless, but what do I know, I'm a NA guy!

On ebay they use to have a buy it now of 47.99. Amazing how people would rather bid it up to 60-70. My A-pillar cracked and warped from the sun so there materials that they are using are not that good. I live in michigan and the car had a shade in the window that didn't cover up a little part of the a-pillar mount which caused it to crack and warp I guess...

Are there any other good guages to put in there besides water temp, oil temp, and a/f?
