I'm an idiot #$*2@, and nice street kids.
Yesterday i have mixed feeling.
In the morning i went to my friends garage to work on my Astro. As i parked the 944 (next to a scrap mercedes) i heard this sound
IIIIIIIIIIcccccccchhhhhhhhh......
I got out and YES !
" I AM A FENDER BENDER "
The left front wing has a 1" wide scratch 8" long, Mercedes color, and was bent in 1 or 2 inches. I HATE myself.
---------------------------------------------------------
In the evening i went to pick up a friend down town and sat waiting in the car as two 10-12 years old "Street Kid's" knocked on my window to talk to me.
Them: "What kind's Car is this ???"
Me: "It's a old porche."
Them: "It's a real cool car you got there man, we like you car, and we like the way it look's inside."
Me: "Thanks."
THE END.
It makes you (Me) feel real good about the 944 that even the kids on the street, that has never seen the 944 before like's it.
end off story

Yeah, the town on Long Island where I grew up is full of the rich stuck up people that make tons of money in the city. It's not uncommon to see Ferarris and Z8s etc. just picking up groceries (it seems like everyone in my town has a Porsche as their everyday car too, but mine is the cheapest, and the best). The high school kids usually drive things like X5s and H2 hummers. I was driving down the street once and a bunch of kids were looking at the car when I was stopped at a light saying "what kind of car is that?" to each other. It seemed like no one knew. As I started to drive away they yelled "nice car". In their eyes my car was as exotic as the Maseratis and Shelbys and Qvales that they see and also don't recognize. Well if I'm on that level, I sure got a great deal!
