For those who recall K27's little misfortune with a concrete barrier...
Well, we got the motor out today ....
out from below
a bit of frame damge on DS - will be easily repaired by a local P Car specialist
K27 facing the camera, and Rich Sandor's arm (no, we did not drop the motor on his hand either!). When the engine goes back in, it's going to be a work of art. Lance is going to rebuild it completely while he's got it out.

K27 had a great - actually brilliant - way to slide the engine out from under the car without using a dolly or hoist. We dropped the engine onto wood blocks - which were on top of a large 3 x 3 sheet of thick cardboard. This in turn was on top of a thick doubled up plastic sheet - like vapor barrier plastic. When we raised the body high enough, it was easy to just PULL the engine forward and slide it on the plastic sheet! Smooth level concrete floor is a must however. Piece of cake! Try it if you are stuck at that point.

Geez, I swear I had a full head of hair when we started ????
Travis will gain some weight from eating all the pizza, this will affect his autocross times.
We had to put up with a sushi bar for lunch.

What did you have to undo to remove it? I am starting tomorrow.

Awww, I wanna pull my motor back out. It's actually kinda fun when you don't have a 19 year collection of dirt and greae(like my mom's 84). 2 motors dropped and one swapped, I'm gettin good, lol. Have fun guys, I'd love to be there!

Another sliding option:
Got 5 or 6 long dowel rods, place a sheet of plywood ontop, then lower the motor onto it. Works great!
Nice work guys.. Lance, take lots of pics of your rebuild.

Rich said he'd jump in front to stop a runaway cherry picker, not so sure about how effective a 140 lb (drippin' wet) Sandor would fare against a 400+ lb lump of alloy and steel with a bit of momentum tho!
