Thanks! Definitely keep helping people (I appreciate it) - just be aware that issues you might run into could be different than others with more standard setups.

Did you reset the idle after installing the MAF kit?
Have you checked for vacuum leaks?
What FQS position are you on?

I don't have the MAF/Rogue tuning(yet), but I just wanted to say that with my stock setup when I blip the throttle on/off quickly I get a fairly strong jerking/bucking motion in the car.

So either I'm thinking of something else or thats not related to the MAF. Its strong enough that when I get on the throttle I usualy start it gradually instead of stomping on it as very often that happens.

I always thought it was the motor/tranny mounts.

Has the car been sitting over the winter? does it have fresh gas in it? perhaps a water remover such as Iso-heet would help...condensation will build up in the very bottom of the tank, giving the fuel pump a shot of water every so often along with the gas..This will cause bucking also.. Does it do it worse on hills? esp going up the hill? If so, the there's a good chance of water in the gas..jus sayin..Thanks

Here's one thing I noticed. Sometimes when I get on it, engine brake, and then get on it again, the car oscillates forward and backward. It eventually dampens out and seems to be inherent to a manual car. Maybe the rubber centered clutch is contributing.

It usually happens in 2nd around town, and 5th on the highway. Is this what you're talking about? For me it happens regardless of AFM or MAF (I'm thinking mechanical more-so than electrical cause).

Idle: Yes, I have reset the idle

FQS: Don't know, didn't change it during this process but I'll check it.

Not sitting, has good fresh gas. I noticed this right after I installed the system last year. The first time I noticed it was during a quick upshift, as soon as I am back on the gas it gives a big kick. People are mentioning bucking, it is not bucking in any rhythmic sense, just a single burst.

My only oddity is that I have a late ['86] US engine in an early Euro car, but all of the computer, etc is taken from the later US car.

Thanks for any input. I do have to say that this upgrade is excellent, much smoother running, more willing to rev, etc. I also did the cam key change.

That kind of sounds like a worn out rubber clutch that is banging into the limp-home cutouts.

My Rogue-Tuning NA-Tune equipped supercharged 944 appeared on Speedhunters with a shout out to Rogue in the text.

Glad to see you're still around Josh. :-)

Check it out!

Congratulations on the article.

The piping under the hood is truly a work of art.

I would like to get my hands on the NA-Tune but, the fact is Josh has left the Porsche 944 community hanging for quite some time now.

So I'm considering Miller's GEN III MAF kit instead. It utilizes a Bosch sensor and plugs into the AFM receptacle.

Default Rogue Tuning MAF question

Why both just make your own standalone setup with whatever MAF you want? and COP ignition...

"Left hanging"...?

Sigh. I take a hiatus due to being overwhelmed with life-changes. I temporarily stopped taking orders for the things I felt would be too time-consuming.

I wouldn't call that "Left hanging".

I have to back up Josh here. When I've needed him, which has been a lot, he has been there for me. He has fully disclosed to me he has zero time. Having been married with kids I understand his situation completely. While admittedly I haven't been the most patient with Josh he has always been professional and as helpful as possible. Without him my supercharger project never could have happened.

I can't fault him for working his *** off to help the 944 community with some of the best products we'll ever see and then taking some time off to be with his family. At least he's still around. How many companies come out gangbusters only to fully disappear a year later.

Hang in there Josh.

+1 on Josh..Hope that his kids are well and normal...I'm sure he'll be back with us as soon as the kids get their "legs" under them..taking care of a normal child/infant is an all-time endeavor..LORD help him and his family if one of them isn't quite "all there" or has a syndrome. Be thankful for your blessings....
