Option Codes for Packages?
We recently purchased an 87 944S. The option code sticker reflects the following options:
BX2, BZ1, C77, 220, 474, 650, 946
However, after receiving VIN data sheet from my local dealership, it reflects the following options:
158, 220, 288, 341, 383, 387, 404, 418, 425, 431, 454, 474, 650, 946
I know others have asked in the past about option codes for packages and I was curious if anyone here has any insight into what they might be. I'm positive the options reflected on the VIN data sheet are correct and were factory installed, not dealer add-ons.
Here's a pic of the option sticker:

This question comes up from time to time when someone finds a well optioned car with numerous codes not displayed on sources code lists ......
Such as those two on your line beginning with B right before the C77.
They are Porsche/Dealer "package" groups which lump some options together as a marketing device to offload parts bins, pack cars further for resale, and provide more profit for both dealer and company.
I am not familiar with any B code options , but own several normals, and know friends with some of the "H" code packages.
My car is an H52 designate and included a package used to market headlamp washers, the sport suspension, the sunroof, and rear wiper combination. Some of those codes are also listed with their appropriate delineation as well as appearing on the Monroney sticker, and again in the current 'Yellow Book' for NADA, which I was fortunate to keep from that period of time. It shows H48, H50 , H52, and H54 models of the 944 normal listed there along with their price structuring for use by used car dealers to ascertain value and content on new trades.
My Monroney Sticker ( yes I am the original owner of this H52 car ) backs up the codes, as does the NADA book.
I hope you find someone who can tell you what the B codes stand for.......

This is exactly the type of information I was interested in. Unfortunately I haven't managed to find anyone at PCNA or Porsche AG that can confirm any of the package codes. We have the original window stickers for our 86 944 Turbo and 92 968 Cabriolet and their option codes on the body match the window sticker options but both appear to have been ordered 'ala carte'

I was researching a car for sale that had the C77 option code, and looked all over the place. This question has been asked for years. I'd even seen it asked in a thread in 2001 here on Rennlist.
I called the local Porsche dealership to see if they could track down what it could be. They said it didn't show up. However, when they ran the VIN, they had options in the system that weren't listed on the option code sticker.
They were:
158-Blaupunkt Reno
418-Body Side Molding
404-Sway Bars F&R
454-Cruise Control
I'm not sure what spec the 404 sway bars are. But this car does have the 474 option code for sport shocks as well.....
