Default How well do you know your 944 - guess this part.

Made a discovery today and thought I'd put it up here for a little game...to see if anyone recognizes this part.

This is a factory-fitted, original from 12/1984 part off my 944. I never knew it existed until an hour ago.

The hint you get is that it is normally inside another part in the engine bay.

I've come across that part, is it the vacuum restricter inside the venturi?

Yup.
It mounts in the 90* bend hose from the J-boot to the manifold/brake booster "Y" venturi pipe.
Actually inside that hose...who knew?

This totally sucks! (pun intended) I knew that one! It's also in the 928 and the line it's in is NLA so you need to cut it out and install it in the new hose when you replace it.

Once. Exactly ONE TIME I've had the answer and you beat me to it!

Hrrumph I say! When will old women and kittens be safe on the streets again?
