that black rubber gasket under the brake fluid cap is missing!! Part#??
I bled the hydraulic fluid yesterday and noticed that the rubber gasket under the cap was missing. I must have put it aside under the hood when I bled the brakes a few months ago and now its gone. I am going to the track for a couple of days next week. Anyone know if there is a part number for this? If not i may have to try and make one somehow real quick.

The seal may not be sold separately, but I bought the whole cap a couple years ago for $15 or so from a dealer. I dont have the part number off hand, but the dealer will know; I think there are only 2 versions of the reservoir, ATE and Girling.
If youre in a pinch, it wouldnt be hard to make up a gasket to get you through a couple days.

I got the part number. Your'e both right, you can only get the cap. I went down to a local hardware store and got a large neoprene washer like a fender waqsher. I will cut it to size. Its slightly thicker than the original but should be OK.

I think I found the exact aftermarket part needed for $2.00 (FTE 34-32-1-102-798-M33).
The ATE cap / float stem / rubber gasket looks to be identical for some VW Rabbit, BMW E30, and Mercedes E300 assemblies, however, the ATE reservoirs looks different for these cars.
