Around 2600 with half tank, based on PO records and mods I've done to it. Only thing keeping it from being "full-functional" is the deleted AC and blower motor stuff under the dash. Lots of other misc. BS taken off.

So where do the later '44s gain their weight? And how heavier are they? I once heard 400 pounds, a bit of an exaggeration .
-door bars

Options, ABS, bigger brakes, wheels and suspension, some structural bracing, possibly better sound deadening. Different, bigger or wider tyres make a difference too.

Wow, some of the weights in here are amazing. Have to assume that the light cars have most of the metal panels replaced with fibreglass or C/Fibre? The only bits of metal we have is the single skinned roof and tailgate. All the rest is non metallic. We're 2550lbs with 1/4 tank. Cage, dry sump, Aero included.

Mine is probably a lot like yours is. Only glass is the front windshield. Fiberglass fenders, roof, hood. Obviously totally stripped interior with just a race seat and a cage with a fire system. I'm painting a FG rear bumper to go on for this season. The lbs to rwhp ratio I'm trying to get closer to is 9:1, and that's a real challenge with a 968 engine.

Your car is statuesque and incredible. Gotta ask how many horses?

I'll do a thread when I get a bit of time.

Mine is a very early car, the very first RHD car actually, built early November 1981.

It was 1178kg (2597lbs) wet when I got it, that was with stock interior etc. I took it down to 980kg (2160lbs) dry with one seat mounted. However I've just remembered that was weighed without the half cage so it's probably 40kg/80lbs heavier, plus fluids and the navigator's seat (7kg + mounts). A rough guess now with it brimmed with fuel, both seats, spare wheel in the back etc would be a max of around 1075kg/2370lbs.

Being a very early car it has absolutely zero in additional kit. No PAS, A/C, ABS, keep-fit windows and roof etc. I removed everything from the interior including the glue, it has lexan windows, a trick very thin glass fibre front bumper, plastic valance etc. It also has all extraneous wiring out, just the blower motor and essential wiring remains. Also has a composite bonnet/hood.

I love the look of the bare interior tub, I would love to do that to mine but I fear for my life due to the noise

Is it crazy loud in there?

Thanks guys.

Yes, it's a pretty hostile environment in there but needs must I guess!

It is an FIA Class 3 historic rally car so I have 911SCs, 3.0 litre Carreras and others in my class. The 944 is a little weapon, knocking out around 175bhp/t so is more than a match for them.

It'll probably be the last car though, there just aren't any 1981 cars left and the cut off for Class 3 is December 31st 1981. I'll keep this one though, it's a fantastic little car.
