Default 944 race car project F/S

Just put an 83 944 with manual steering on Ebay for anyone interested. Would make a nice Cup car or club racer. It's in SE Florida. Had an engine fire (only affected upper engine bay), but have most of the parts to replace the damaged parts, like complete engine bay wiring harness, 931 turbo hood, air box, brake booster/master cylinder, fuel rail, coolant overflow tank, etc. Much of the grunt work already done like stripping the interior etc. Also includes a new A/C delete bracket. Body is rust free and in good shape with a few minor dents. Engine and tranny still in car. Koni Yellows on rear. ASKING $350. See auction for details and pix:

i've got 4 guys willing to throw in $100 each for a total of $400 for it. we'll come pick it up. we want to start an ITS project, and this car would be perfect! i dont want to do it through ebay, unless you want to end the auction early. email me ERAU944@hotmail.com if you'd consider the offer.

thanks,

I emailed you, so get back to me ASAP. I can end the auction so long as nobody bids on it.

Another ITS 944!

We need to start a database of ITS 944 owners.

Must...........control...jealousy!

Congrats Michael, sounds like a fun project. Let me know if you need extra n/a brake parts. I have all of the original stuff off my 85.5 that I took off last year for the brake upgrade. I have calipers, rotors, front hubs and spindles, etc. I might be willing to "donate" to the project for the cost of shipping.

Hi ERAU, car is in Pompano Beach (north of Ft. Lauderdale and south of Boca). Also recommend you get with Tifosiman who posted above and grab a driver side front spindle. This is an inherently weak spot on the early 944's since the speedo cable goes to a hollowed spindle. 85-1/2 and 86's are a direct swap and are solid spindles. You got my tel#. I,m just glad to see that you're finishing what I started. I'd have finished it, but am building a 70 AMX for the vintage racing class and something has to go.

See ya soon,

I have a 924S project car! Runs, but needs work. $1000 firm takes it.

Car runs, just needs work to a/c compressor, and a few other things. Other than that the engine is around 85k miles, and tranny is good.

sweet: so i'm totally pumped!

thinking of names for the team... how about:

'MEAT LYSDEXIC'.... get it?

also, can we check into getting rennlist sponsorship? any other sponsors/donors/etc. would be mentioned on the car

-Michael- dreaming of turning the key on a functional race car soon

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't SCCA approve the 944S for ITS as well?
