I feel strange going back and forth from my 951 to my RSX, and the RSX is a lower than average sport coupe.

Hey man... I have an auto also, its my daily driver...it might be slow, but it sure handles like crap.
Actually its sticking good now, adjustable shocks all around, turbo sway bars, 993 cup wheels with khumo tires. I know, Jonas, whats the point.
1- its an automatic
2-its an automatic
3-it sucks.

Your not supposed to tell someone their baby is ugly to their face, your supposed to politely smile and nod ;-)
I actually bought an Auto on purpose.. this will be a daily driver (at least for a short period of time) and driving a stick in traffic day after day blows. When I get a new daily driver I will remind myself

3-it sucks.
and move on to something else.

i've driven both daily. and unless you are some type of leg or arm disabled, stick is BETTER HANDS DOWN. not to say the auto isn't decent, its just sort of against the nature of a sports car.

But you left out the laziness factor.. I drove a stick for 10 years and if I was adding another car, it would definately be a stick. But for everyday puttering around, and going from point A to B (no swerving to C, or darting to D) give me an Auto any day.

When I get stuck in traffic in the next hour, I'll be a bit envious of the AT owners. And my Acura clutch is fairly light.
Once during "event traffic", it took me almost two hours to drive under three miles in my '99 corolla, with a stiff clutch. I had a limp for a few hours after that. OUCH!

As far as the Auto vs stick debate.....unless I was driving a truck ( or something else with a real heavy clutch) I'd take a manual trans over an auto any day. More control of the vehicle.....you can always start the car...even if the battery's dead....usually better gas mileage ( or at least the opportunity for better mileage) AND... more fun....more fun....more fun....
