Engine rebuild...what should I get
Well, a few of you guys know I might be getting a 924. Now it's the 79 model that has the audi engine in it...non turbo
I do know I have to replace the water pump, no biggy. But what else should I replace since im thinking of a rebuild. I know a cam would be nice, gaskets a must, but what else can I do to get some umph out of this engine. Also, i know that this isnt always a great idea, but what of NO2?? how safe is that when used right?
I appreciate your help guys.

Nothing you can really do to get power out of this engine. If you're gonna crack it open, get 10:1 pistons, port and polish the head, and get a cam with a more aggressive grind. This will bring you to about 150hp.

I have had 4 differen 924 i my "porsche" life, and i'll say you can get a lot of fun in the 924, and it's more cheep than a 944 because off the a.udi engine.
The main thing that has to be in good working order for at smooth runing engine is the Fuel Distributor (it also cost more than the car if you want an exchange at BOSCH). The metering piston in the Fuel distributor gets worn with mileage. Also use a Fuel system cleaner in the petrol to clean the injectors.
With a clean good runing 924 engine, with adjusted timing and Fuel/air mixture, you can get 0-60 in about 8,5sec. (i did).
