Hey Folks

Will the 996 Turbo twists (OEM 18's) fit on a 951?

TIA

They should fit on later offset 944s as far as I know.

If they're a wide body wheel (rear offsets of 40) those will NOT fit. You need the narrow body ET65 rear offset wheels to fit.

235/40 ZR 18 X 8 50et front
295/30 ZR 18 X 11 45et back

These will fit early and late offset. Fitting on early offset is easier than late offset.

You will need spacers front and rear for early offset. You may need to roll the rear fenders and even make a little bit of room on the inside fender wells in the rear.
For the front, you will need spacers to clear the front wheel bearing dust caps.

For late offset, you will need front spacers to clear the wheel bearing dust caps. You will also need to do some very aggressive fender rolling/stretching.

Red 951 = Early offset
White 944 S2 Cab = late offset

azbanks,

I just picked up a set of the exact wheel sizes you mention for my early offset 86 951. I will be buying spacers, rolling my fenders and buying new rear tires.

I assume I need a 25 mm spacer on the front, right?

Do you know what size spacer is correct for the rear?

Also, how wide or narrow of rear tires should I buy? Will a 265 or 275 wide tire help with avoiding rubbing?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks Folks-

What I'm taking from this discussion is that yes, with some wrenching and adjustment, these will fit.....Yes?

I used 1 inch spacers in the front and I think it was 15 or 19 mm in the rear. Using 265 or 275 should help with the rubbing but they may have significant stretch.

I test fit the 11s last night. I found that if I shave a couple mm of off 1 spring bolt past the nut and a couple mm off of a piece of metal sticking out, I could fit them with only 3 mm spacers.

15 mm spacers seem like they would need the fenders rolled and stick out pretty far. I may go with bigger spacers later if I ever swap out the studs and roll the fender.

Make sure they don't rub on your brake lines.

I also secured the line tighter to the arm which keeps it off the wheel. I am going to try it for a little while and check everything. Worst case I put bigger spacers on and roll the fenders.
