Default $300 for that?!

Well doing some searching here and I am in need of a Fog light lens for the driver and passenger side. Just got my '86 Porsche 944 turbo today and going through it and making a list of what she needs and that is one of them. Well for $300 roughly you can purchase brand new OEM fog light lens. This guys isnt doing that lol SO I WAS wondering if anyone was parting a body out or anything or if you just have some extras sitting around and how much. Let me know guys! Thanks! and I will be posting pictures and a new car thread as well so stay tuned!

Hi and welcome. Just so you know you cannot start "want to buy" threads without being a paid member.Have a read of the rules at the top first as it would be a shame if you are banned on your first post.

Yes there are used ones offered on here occasionally but most have some road rash due to the position they are in.

Looking forward to pics of your car.

Welcome to the forum!
Unfortunately, your problem is too common for most 951 and 944S2 owners.
Last I checked the new Bosch fog light lenses are no longer available and whatever is available for sale is either NOS or used sets. I happen to have a couple of sets of the euro version of the lenses and I had to spend roughly $200 a lens! The used sets in decent condition are usually going for $350-$400 and the NOS are more expensive.

Btw, an introduction would have been the better way for your first post.

Yeah it sucks, they like to break on the passenger side, my s2 had that happen last year with a euro lens. Not cheap

You can get (or make) clear covers for them to help protect them from rocks. Sotchgal type material.

Sorry, but get used to it. Check the prices for things like bumper pads or other parts that get beat up a bit. You did not buy a Toyota Tercel, it take a certain amount of coin to preserve these things......

There are some good online Porsche salvage sites, but even there, things are not cheap. Places like here, where many of us have accumulated parts, are a great place to barter, trade or buy privately.

Check this out: https://rennlist.com/forums/944-turb...chevy-p-u.html

I think the stock fogs look way better personally, but it's cool to see budget solutions. Anyone else have any tricks for cool stuff to do with the fog light spots? I have a 951 bumper conversion in the "getting all the parts together" phase and am interested.

Porsche charges epic for **** Mexican parts and can't even supply a decent crate engine for 370,000 front engine, 2-door hatchbacks.

life in vw.

It is not that expensive if you compare it to other sport cars. If compared to $500 honda than it is very expensive.

bmw E39 headlight costs $1500, vette C6 headlight is ~$1000 and so on.

Thanks for your input guys. Was hoping someone would have a MOD solution of some sort and point me in the right direction. The chevy mod doesnt look terrible. Yeah its not like the OEM look but hey if it saves you dropping 300+ on a light then who cares right? As long as you can get them to shine and point in the right direction all is good

How about something like this?

http://www.amhp.com.au/

My aussie friends use them on their bikes. I have been on a bike when the headlight took a hit. The protector was cracked, but the headlight was fine. Much cheaper to replace than a complete headlight.

I would imagine they could make up covers for our fog lights, if there was enough interest. One of their protectors is about $50 for my bike which is a little smaller than both the 944's fog lights put together.

Just a thought...
