Default *sigh* Hood crest stolen last night from S2

Well the moment you fear happened to me last night while my car was parked at home. Someone decided they needed some bling for their neck and stole my crest. Header panel is bent up, paint is flaked and the 2 year old crest is gone.

I'm kinda pissed right now. No evidence, only a thought that one my neighbors hood *** friends decided they needed it.

Anyone have a nice used crest? still figuring out the best thing to do about the header panel.

Sorry for your loss. I'm glad I live out away from people. Too bad you can't just shoot a SOB like that, dump his worthless carcass along a dark and lonely road and then fade off into the darkness with your crest restored and the world left a little better place with his demise. IMHO

Damn..that sucks.. I remember it being popular in the 80's to steal them off Mercedes cars.

You might be able to gently tap the bulged areas down and get things as level as possible. Touch up the scratches and be ok.

Maybe glue razor blades around the edge of the new one?

Just a thought...

Google you tube dent repair since it is on a rather flat surface. You use a Heat Gun to heat the surface being careful NOT to blister the paint and rapid cool the dented area. The nose panel is held on with bolts and not spot welded in place. Removal and replacement will take some time, but a shop can remove the dented area and repaint.

Cheers,
Larry

Sorry to hear. Lucky for me, I live in Texas. The one foolish man who decided he wanted to take my locked car from my driveway last year was met with a loaded 12 gauge...

This is my biggest concern living in an ungated apartment complex. There's evidence that someone tried to jimmy the passenger side lock once, and gave up I guess.

I'm most sorry to hear this as I remember a time that people respected other people's property and aspired to own nice things and improve their lives. Obviously it's unfortunately a sign that it's time to move.

Alpine: Close to downtown Colorado springs, the car is now living in another section of town away from my house. I'm sad about it, i'm going to be making appointments to see it and it doesn't seem right. Still, i can't risk that this escalates and that the car is vandalized more. I'll be moving in a few months and will finally have an enclosed garage of my own instead of just a covered car port.

Tom: i don't think i do, but i will look through the parts i kept from that car before it went to pull and pay. The early style shift **** is different from the late IIRC so don't know if it was on my radar. I hope the 944S is still treating you well.

I've got the crest from my old 951 sitting in my garage. It's got a few chips.
PM me if you want it.

Car has been in Mikes garage for last few months. No more PS leak, new front pads and rotors.
The rear bearings and brakes are in my garage waiting to be installed.

Just have to make time to do the work. We have a Momo steering wheel ready to go on at the same time i play with the odometer gear.

We also need tires. Have to decide if we want R compounds or an aggressive street tire.

I knew of a guy down here that was sick of repairing the damage from stolen crests so he cuts the pins of the new crests and lightly glues them on.
When someone tries to steal it, it just pops off with no damage.

Or he could buy a 12 gauge.
