Default OT: I learned a valuable lesson today

So, I was chopping up a jalepeņo, and after I was done I put it in the pan, and then rubbed one of my eyes. It's about half an hour later now and my eye has pretty much stopped burning. Do I need to se a doctor, or will I be ok since the pain is gone? Any doctors here? Or chefs in Mexican restaurants?

In conclusion: Do NOT rub your eyes with jalepeņo on your hands. Thank god I wasn't chopping a habanero.

You'll be fine, it will suck when you take a shower tho. I got hit with a can of pepper spray, for a week after, every time I took a shower, it started burning again. They use Habanero peppers for the spray. I knew a guy that was eating some hot sauce(habanero peppers), he went to the bathroom and that one part that a guy holds while doing his business. Well, yeah, he thought it was going to fall off! He wiped his hands, but didn't think of it. I'm sure he will next time!

BTW, habaneros(if I'm spelling it right), are like ten times hotter than jalepenos!

Yep, if I had been using habaneros (not that there is any reason I would need a pepper like that) I bet I would be blind in one eye.

So why did you get pepper sprayed, anyway?

It's a lesson you learn the first time,,and never forget. I had a similar thing happen when I was a young mechanic. Changed an old sweaty battery,,then went immediately into the restroom to,,well, to pee. ALWAYS wash your hands before handling your johnson. That battery acid is MEAN.
