I don't have the key to arm the alarm... So at the alarm control unit, I ran 12v to the E/A pin... With the doors closed, I heard a click of a relay. I opened the door and the alarm went off like it was supposed to. However, this only worked twice. Now as soon as I arm the alarm, with the doors, hatch, and hood shut, it goes off immediately. I checked all the inputs and all are non-grounded (they should only read ground if the door is opened). I can also get the alarm to go off if I only connect the bottom, (ground wire side) of the connector. If I do that, I don't even have to arm the system it just goes off... Any suggestions?
Thanks

On my 87 an ignition key blank can be cut to fit the switch, but I was at Zims and they had a new switch, same part # but took a different key blank.
At some point the cylinder was changed to accept a totally different looking key.

Okay guys I've almost got this one pinned down... The arm/disarm signal isn't 12v and ground... It is armed and disarmed by varying ground reference points through 2 resistors in the lock (switch). But what I need is for someone with a alarm key and a multimeter is to check the resistance in the E/A pin (yellow wire) to ground. The E/A pin is located on the alarm box. The box is mounted with a removable clip behind the DME. To do the test, disconnect the connector from the box and put one test lead in the E/A plug and put the other lead to the ground pin of the same harness (ground plug= 30). Record values with the switch in armed and disarmed position. I get about 5k ohms in the disarmed state. Basically I need to know if the resistance goes up or down when the switch is in the armed position and to what value. If someone could do this for me that would be awesome. Then I post a write-up of how to use the stock alarm with an aftermarket alarm and get best of both worlds.
Thanks in advance.

Okay... I think I figured it out... Ground arms the alarm and 5k ohms to ground disarms it. Can anyone confirm this? It seems to work (I tried 5 times). But I don't want it to malfunction if I haven't gotten it right.
