83 944 block with 951 Head?
Guys,
I just did a little detailed inspection of my 83 944 parts car.
Turns out the P/O just installed a new waterpump & timing belts and a replaced the head. Makes sence since he gave me a headwith broken stud when I bought the car. Anyway it looks like guy replaced he head with a 951.xxx. part number head.
Aside from valves & valve springs anything difference about a 951 head from a NA head?
My guess is no!

Ceramic exhaust ports. I think they're the same other than that.
EDIT- I believe the cam profile is slightly different but don't quote me on that.

Thanks for the info, but I am pretty sure the car has the orginal cam. It looks like the guy was doing a headgasket and messed-up the head. Then went at go a 951 head as a replacment. I am not certain about valves or valve springs (could be 951 or 944), but I'd guess the cam and cam tower are original.
So aside from valves & valve springs what is different?
Just the coating on the exhaust ports?
