944/951 suspension height
After visiting Davis Sims' excellent 944 site (http://www.davidsims.ukgateway.net/944t/suspension.htm) and learning that the lowest recommended ride height for 944's is 13"-13 1/2" from front wheel centre to bottom lip of the fender, I thought I'd check out mine. It's 13 1/2" and as far as I know, the suspension is (presently) stock. Rear is also 13 1/2" for the same measurement. My car is Australian spec - probably the same as Euro spec. I'd be interested to know what height everyone else is running, given that lots of you have lowered yours.....

My vintage '84 measures just slightly over 13" front and rear. Front springs are stock height but rear eccentric has been adjusted to level the car. The A-arms are a bit higher at the ball joint relative to their frame attachment so much lower in front would probably put ball joints in bind.

Rob, my 90 with new suspension parts now rides at 13" after being adjusted for that height. Was told 10mm under stock. My 86 rides about 13"1/4 mainly through sag I would imagine.

Thanks for your replied guys - quite apart from the ball joint issues, it's hard to imagine getting away with less than 13" on a road car. I have to be really careful around here at 13 1/2" - have to back off some on tight windey blacktop with ripples.....but am looking at spring/shock upgrade soon!

Well the car is currently on uneven sized pieces of wood (gonna be jacking it up tomorow to do the thermoswitch/coolant flush..etc...so just drove it up there this afternoon after i went somewhere)....anyway
I'm seeing 12.5 to 13" going around the 4 corners. I expect 12.75" is about where it lies.

This is with the factory turbo S coilovers maxed out on the low-side.
Fabcar A-arms so no balljoint worries!
I have no issues scraping the front end driving around town...

Shortyboy, the M474 package will not give you ride height adjustment on the front and since the Koni adjustment is for rebound only that won't help you with ride height as well. If the PO cut the stock springs you should replace them with either stock or an aftermarket spring of your choice. There are also Adjustable Ride Height coil over kits that you can add to your car to give you M030 type of ride height adjustment.

If they're the factory installed, non externally adjustable units (externally adjustable are now available) you'll need to remove it from the car to adjust.

I was wondering about the ride height on my car also it sits higher in the front end than the back and when put a good amount of weight in the hatch area it will scrub.
Now I know I'm gonna get flamed but I have early offset wheels on the rear. It was like this when I bought the car. I think they are actually the front wheels from an early car. The fronts look to be the stock units.

I checked my car again and noticed that the drivers side is higher than the passenger side. Here are the measurements from the wheel center to the fender lip.
Driver's side front-14"
Driver's side rear-14"
Pass. side front-13 1/2"
Pass. side rear-13 5/8"
The rear is easy to fix but how do I lower the front driver's side with stock struts & springs? Both front springs have 2 pink dots so I think they are a matched set.
